The primary goal of this agency is to ensure that no citizen needlessly suffers loss of life or property as a result of an emergency or disaster (natural or man-made). The agency has a State and Federal approved plan for handling emergencies including: floods, hazardous material, major auto accidents, major fires, tornadoes, storms, etc
.
RCEMA functions under the supervision of the Robertson County Executive and the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

Mr. Douglas works to coordinate the efforts of all local emergency personnel when relief is needed by residents affected by natural disasters. RCEMA has a HAZMAT trailer equipped with supplies that will allow emergency personnel to defend the county against anything from an oil spill to a terroist attack.

RCEMA also has a Mobile Operations Center that can be dispatched to the scene of a major emergency and used to coordinate the activities of local government officials, THP officers, TEMA, and other state agencies.
