OFFICE MANAGER – ROBERTSON COUNTY SOIL CONSERVATION DISTRICT – This position is that of an administrative assistant responsible for performing professional and administrative work for the Soil Conservation District in an agricultural environment. Work involves all aspects of customer service, acquiring and managing agricultural grants in cooperation with other agencies, and hosting informational and educational projects in order to serve landowners of Robertson County.
SALARY: $16.93/hr, full time (75 hrs bi-weekly), county benefit package included

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide all aspects of customer service for the District office, meet the general public in a courteous and helpful manner, and serve as a liaison to other agricultural agencies for Robertson County landowners/operators. Knowledge of local farming or agricultural systems is preferred. Maintain office correspondence, file systems, and office supplies necessary for office functions in accordance with county and governmental policies and procedures. Proficient in use of computer and Microsoft programs, spread sheets, website maintenance and other computer programs for office functions. Ability to use blogging and website software in order to maintain office website. Knowledge in use of maps and mapping programs in order to provide public information on aerial and soils maps. Create various reports, data bases, spreadsheets, marketing material, newsletters, news releases and other publications necessary to verify progress and for the operation and implementation of effective conservation practices. Work with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) to acquire grant funding for Robertson
County landowners/operators for conservation practices. Develop yearly budgets for the TDA program in Robertson Co. Submit grant funding requests in a timely manner. Accurately monitor and distribute funds to qualified and approved applicants. Maintain and distribute tax records yearly as necessary. Assist the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) in development of conservation plans, allotment of funds to Robertson County landowners, map preparations, and other office functions in a combined effort for the preservation of Robertson County natural Serve as public relations coordinator between the Soil Conservation District board and Robertson County. Attend local, regional, and state district meetings as scheduled. Coordinate local events to
increase awareness of Soil Conservation efforts to residents of local community, such as, Agriculture in the Classroom visits and educational promotions, cost share opportunities for county residents, local programs as they relate to land users and representation of the Soil Conservation District Board at public functions. Schedule monthly district board meetings, provide monthly financial statements and records and present minutes of each meeting. Maintain records of district business transactions on a daily basis. All financial records will be maintained in a neat and orderly fashion as established by the district treasurer. Provide minimal use of a reliable vehicle for errands, to which the district shall pay mileage as recorded on required forms. Maintain accurate time and attendance reports on all district employees and/or technicians. Complete and pass FBI fingerprint, background, security and drug screenings as requested. All duties and actions taken by the incumbent of this position while on official duty will be performed in a safe and healthful manner and will be of a nature to reflect favorably on the Robertson County Soil
Conservation District.
SUPERVISION: The incumbent of this position is under the direct supervision of the Soil Conservation District Board of Supervisors. Additional assignments are given by members of the district board.
PERFORMANCE REVIEW: Your performance of each duty in this position will be evaluated against the requirements developed for your position. A formal review will be completed by supervisors on a bi-annual basis during probationary period of one year, and as deemed appropriate thereafter. Your performance rating is an overall evaluation of your performance in the judgment of your supervisors.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR – Loader Operator – FULL-TIME POSITION. General Statement of Duties: Operator will be loading waste hauler trucks, pushing up refuse inside of Transfer Station building, and assisting customers entering and exiting building. Class B Truck Driver -Roll off/Front Loader trucks – FULL-TIME POSITION. General Statement of Duties: Driver will be operating a roll-off and a front loader refuse truck.  Other Responsibilities: Maintains equipment and ensures proper function. Light Equipment Operator/Laborer at Robertson Co. Solid Waste Department

Summary

Operates and performs inspection and routine maintenance on various equipment including forklifts, bobcats, and small tractors in the performance of materials moving, trash removal, and other similar activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Operates forklifts and front skid steer loaders to transport trash and recycle materials.
  2. Operates mechanized sweepers and magnets.
  3. Keeps overall appearance of grounds neat.
  4. Performs routine inspection and maintenance on equipment.
  5. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  6. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Must pass a Pre-employment drug test

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of materials handling, equipment, and procedures.
  • Ability to drive motor vehicles.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 40 pounds.
